This is a very upbeat Recessional Hymn. I just like its sound. It's characteristic a characteristic song of supplication. I prefer "Humayo at Ipahayag" in terms of message, but this is good, too. I'll try to translate the lyrics, but I'm not very good at translating. ^^

The title means "Blessing" as in the verb, not the noun.

This is a very beautiful song that I like hearing. It's sung during Communion. It's reminiscent of two other favorites of mine, "Here I am, Lord" and "As the Deer". It speaks of Christ's gifts to his people, like "Here I am, Lord" and of our unquestionable need for God as in "As the Deer". My favorite line here is "Stand up, now; walk; and live", words that I have yet to heed, but I want to follow one day.

At about this time, last year, I was saying goodbye in so many words to so many people. So much has changed since then.

If we measured that year in daylights and sunsets and midnights and cups of coffee, the past year would be the same as so many others. it had the same number of days, hours, minutes as the years that have come before it and as the years of everyone else.

If we measure the past year in terms of the inches and miles traveled, the year was much shorter for me than for many of the people surrounding me. That is the beauty of a turning point, you travel a certain amount of distance in terms of experience without really going anywhere, but you know you're heading in a whole new direction.

If we use laughter and strife, this year was a bit more difficult for me than most, but it was extremely difficult for so many others. The year was long because I walked alongside those who experienced true laughter and true strife, but I had none of my own--at least nothing new.

So, I begin to wonder when my year will be the same as the years of those around me. Then, at that time, perhaps I won't feel so left behind.

Yeah, I know, it's raw, unpoetic, and is almost completely the literal translation of the original. My Filipino has always sucked, but it has always been a dream of mine to translate the entire Les Miserables play into Filipino. I believe that the Filipino public would take well to the story because that period of time in France is very similar in nature to our current time and also, Filipinos will probably love the Cosette-Marius-Eponine and Fantine-Valjean relationships because Filipinos have always been suckers for romantic love.
